Making of

We handpick secondhand fabrics on Accra’s busy Kantamanto Market. Each material is unique and perfectly imperfect. We stamp it with hot wax, dye it and washed out the wax. This dyeing method is called batik. Ready for the sewing process the fabric is given to an independent seamstress. With effort and care this friskyness is sewn by hand.
